Review and End Account Sessions

Use the session controls to remove access from devices you no longer trust.

3 min readLast updated 24. Juli 2026

Overview

A session keeps an account signed in after authentication. It can remain active until it expires, is revoked, or the account security state changes.

Review sessions after using a shared device, changing a password, or noticing activity you do not recognize.

Review Security settings

Review and revoke sessions

  1. 1

    Open Security settings

Sign in, open Account, and select Security.

  2. 2

    Review the current session

Check the creation time, expiration time, and available browser or device information.

  3. 3

    Compare the active-session count

More sessions than expected can mean another browser, device, or old login remains active.

  4. 4

    Sign out other sessions

Use the session control to revoke every other signed-in device when you no longer trust them.

  5. 5

    Change the password if needed

If access may be unauthorized, change the password and secure the associated email account as well.

Tips for a better result

Revoke after shared-device use

Do this even if you believe the browser window was closed.

Secure the email account

Password recovery depends on email access, so the mailbox is part of account security.

Treat device labels as clues

Browser information may be general and should not be treated as perfect device identification.

Common mistakes to avoid

Assuming tab closure signs out

Closing a tab usually leaves the session cookie in the browser.

Revoking sessions without changing a leaked password

An attacker who still knows the credential may sign in again.

Troubleshooting

A revoked device still looks signed in

Refresh or navigate to a protected page on that device. Cached content can remain visible until the next server check.

You keep being signed out

Check cookie settings, system time, browser extensions, and whether another security action recently revoked sessions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I view full session tokens?

No. Sensitive session tokens are not displayed in account or admin pages.

Does changing a password affect other sessions?
