Change Your Account Password
Replace a known password from the protected account security page.
Overview
Changing a password is different from resetting a forgotten one. Use Security settings when you are signed in and know the current password.
iZipIMG signs out other active sessions after a successful password change. This helps remove access from devices still using the previous credential.
Change a password from Security settings
- 1
Sign in to the account
Use the current credential on a trusted device.
- 2
Open Security settings
Go to Account, then Security. Password controls appear only when the account has a password credential.
- 3
Enter the current password
This confirms that the signed-in person knows the existing credential.
- 4
Create and confirm the new password
Use a unique value and enter it consistently in both fields.
- 5
Save and review sessions
Complete the change, update your password manager, and confirm that other sessions have ended as expected.
Tips for a better result
Change compromised passwords immediately
Do not wait if the password was reused, shared, or exposed in another breach.
Use a long unique phrase
Length and uniqueness are more useful than predictable substitutions.
Common mistakes to avoid
Choosing a cosmetic variation
Adding one digit to the old password is easy to guess and does not address reuse.
Forgetting other devices will sign out
Have the new password available before switching to another device.
Troubleshooting
No password form is shown
The account may use Google without a password credential. Continue using Google unless a supported password setup option is provided.
The current password is rejected
Use password reset instead of guessing repeatedly.
Frequently asked questions
Will changing my password sign out this device?
The current session can remain available while other active sessions are revoked, depending on the completed security flow.
Can an administrator set my password?
Administrators should not view or send user passwords. Use the supported change or reset process.
